Name of the criminal: Mohammad Milan (28), father Shaheb Ali, Boro Achra, thana Benapole port, district Jessore.

Plaintiff: Nayeb Subedar no5647 Mohammad Wahid (22), Rifels Batilion, Benapole I.C.P Jessore.

Thana and case number: Benapole Port thana, case no 12/07, date 13/5/07.

Statement of Mohammad Abdul Wahid, I.C.P in-charge:

According to the statement of Subedar Nayeb Abdul Wahid; victim Rabeya was upset by domestic violence at triggered by her husband, came to Benapole with an intention to go to India. On that day Rabeya went to Milon Store near immigration office by a van with an intention to meet Milon. She waited from 4pm till 6 pm at there. At around 7 p.m. she was arrested by BDR along with trafficker Milon and brought to BDR camp while crossing the border by a van.

Description of the incident:

Victim Rabeya Bashri informed us that she was a converted Muslim from Hindu and her previous name was Shandha Ray before she got married to Alauddin Peyada. She blamed

Alauddin for deceiving her by not disclosing about his previous marriage. Rabeya stated that at the marriage went at the beginning relationship nevertheless gradually the relationship became bitter as Alauddin started to torture her both physically and mentally. In this situation Rabeya left her husband's residence and headed for Dhaka to get read of the life she was going through. After she came to Dhaka she manage to find a job in a garments factory with the help of one of her friends and her accommodation was arranged by sharing the a room with the same friend. Some days later Rabeya's husband Alauddin again insisted her to return back to his house vowed to have a decent life this time. In this stage Rabeya was convinced by the proposal and went back to her husband's residence. After a few days Rabeya's husband started torturing her once again. In this situation, Rabeya left her husband's place once again and went to her uncle's place in Barisal at Gagan Gali road on 4/5/07. This time Rabeya decided to go to India to her other uncle's place and for that purpose she went to Benapole. After reaching Benapole she met a person named Ripon who was involved in human trafficking. Finally, while crossing the border both Ripon and Rabeya was arrested by B.D.R. We went to B.D.R camp after getting the news from B.D.R and came to know about the whole incident from

victim rabeya. At the end they were brought to Benapole Port thana and a case of trafficking was filed after having a word with thana duty officer Mohammad Shahadat Hossain.
